City Circle has always embraced the environmental benefits of coach travel, actively investing in modern, high-specification vehicles that are fitted with the latest environmentally-conscious features. This approach allows us to stay ahead of technological developments within the industry, and ensures that the business is always fully compliant with any environmental policies or legislation. For example, in 2015 we became one of the first UK coach companies to operate a fully Euro 6 compliant fleet, ensuring that we had no issues when London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) was introduced to enforce these emissions standards in April 2019.
Understanding the importance of environmental issues
As an efficient means of group travel, coaches have always offered an effective way for passengers to minimise the pollution caused by their journeys. Not only can large groups travel together in a single vehicle, they can travel directly to their destination with no unnecessary transfers or stopping points. The growing importance of protecting the environment has increasingly made people aware of these benefits, with many corporate clients particularly keen to reduce their carbon footprints. At City Circle, we’ve made environmental features a key consideration when investing in new vehicles, recognising the impact that even minor innovations can have within a large fleet. Currently, we invest around £2.5 million per year in new vehicles, making sure that every coach we purchase is fitted with the latest and best environmental features so that our clients have peace of mind.
